Lands End

Whilst holidaying at Coombe Mill, we went on many day trips (see previous post about Adrenaline Quarry). One of these was to Lands End. Somewhere that none of us had never been before. We chose to go on the same day that they had an air sea rescue event, as then there would be more to do.

Yes, sad as it sounds, we love a good tombola! And on this day, we won two books and a notebook and pencil! There were a good few fundraising stalls and a lovely community feel.

We watched the rescue helicopter take off and then go on to perform an air sea rescue display. It was great to watch.

Air Sea Rescue

We strolled down the first and last house in England, to have a wander around the souvenir shop, buy some postcards for the girl’s memory boxes, and of course, buy some true Cornish ice cream! From here we admired the view and read up on what all the landmarks on the horizon were called.

First and Last House

Next we went on to the park, so Bunny could play, whilst the twins had lunch. We’d been picking at a picnic whilst walking along, but I just had to have some chips too!

Playtime at Lands End

Once playtime was over, Bunny had a go at standing on a surf machine. She lasted all of 9 seconds. That was her best of three attempts. It was funny though.

Surfin Fun

We also went into the 4D cinema to watch (and feel) 20000 leagues under the sea. Jonny, the Twins and I, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Bunny, however, wasn’t impressed that the seats kept moving!

We didn’t get a photo with the famous Lands End sign, because we felt that £10 was a lot of money for a photo, especially as you couldn’t even get a digital copy of it.

We did easily manage to fill a good three hours at Lands End and had a lovely day out. The scenery was beautiful and I think it was worth the drive. It’s one of those places that I’m pleased to be able to say, “I’ve been there!”.

Looks like a lovely day out. We’re off to Coombe Mill next July so watching all the blog posts roll in at the moment for ideas of things to do when we’re down there. Lovely to see you, if somewhat briefly, on Thursday xxx

Looks like a great day out. Love how the sign has my son’s birthday on it – does that change daily then? Have to admit I have never been and is somewhere that I’d like to take the children. We are suckers at paying £10 for photos like that and probably why they get away with charging it (well I would have if it were for a magnet). Glad you enjoyed your holiday.

Loving your photos from here Emma, Lands End is somewhere I have never been though Nick does go down to trade a few animals from time to time. I think we swapped Billy goats with the fun farm there last year to prevent inbreeding. Glad the journey was worth while, you certainly managed to get out and about and make the most of your time with us. Thanks for linking up to Country Kids.

Lands End on a summers day – perfect. The views of the coastline there are gorgeous and there is quite a few shops and attractions too. The surf machine must be new, it looks like great fun though! Thanks for coming over and sharing your outdoor adventure with Country Kids.
