Bunny’s Gymnastic Dreams and Some Exciting News

16 April, 2019 by Emma MacDonald 4 Comments

My 11 year old completing a gymnastics move which is part of a display she was doing to Michael Jacksons Thriller. This photo accompanies a post about her gymnastic dreams.

Bunny has been doing acrobatic gymnastics for six and a half years and tumbling for one and a half years, trying to reach her gymnastic dreams. She started when she was just 5 years old in one of the recreational classes, like my twins are in now. She started in the Blue group, which at […]

Bunny’s first tumbling competition at club level

24 October, 2018 by Emma MacDonald 2 Comments

Bunny has been doing acro gymnastics for six years now and has been lucky enough to start doing acro gymnastics competitions around this time last year. She has won a medal in all but one competition, that she has taken part in since (including some gold’s). In September last year, she got invited to start […]

Two more gymnastics competitions

gymnastics competitions

A few months ago I blogged about a gymnastics competition in Sherborne, Dorset, where Bunny was really quite upset at not placing. I wrote that she had two more acro gymnastics competitions coming up, so her trio have time to perfect their routine. Well… One of those competitions was this weekend just gone and the […]

acro gymnastics, CDC competition, gymnastics competition, british gymnastics, CDC grade 2,

At the weekend, Bunny performed at her second gymnastics competition. She does a yearly competition against members of her own club, but this was only her second competition against other clubs. We travelled down to Dorset for the competition and managed to combine it with a trip to see family and friends, which was really […]

I just realised my photo from the top of "The Moun I just realised my photo from the top of "The Mount" never posted! My insta looks jumbled 😂 So here's the photo I took from the top of #stmichaelsmount back in October at my beautiful friend's wedding. It was both breezy and breathtaking. I don't drink very often, but I made an exception that day and had a glass of two of prosecco to toast the happy couple.

St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. The wedding venue St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. The wedding venue of my beautiful school friend Harriet and her new husband John. Very unique, quite a climb to the top, especially when the gatekeeper tells you you need to run (I didn't need to run). I made it over the causeway and into the chapel at the top in just 10 minutes, but my legs were like jelly and I couldn't breathe once I got there. Thankfully I had a good 35 mins to recover before the bride arrived. Stunning location and well worth a visit if you're near Penzance end of Cornwall. You can only cross to the mount when the tide is out and must be back on the mainland before the tide comes in, so check tide times before you visit!

Mike and I are having a weekend away in Cornwall. Mike and I are having a weekend away in Cornwall. Our first time away without the children in over 2 years. We are here for my beautiful school friends wedding, which is around a 30 minute drive away. This is the view from the doorstep of our hotel at Mullion Cove. I do love being near the sea, it relaxes me and resets me.

I wish we had a view like this from our room, but sadly, despite paying £285 for our room, we've only got a view of power cables, kitchen and the bin stores 🙈

We watched #Texas #McFly #BeverleyKnight #Lulu #TheFratellis I wish we could have stayed longer but I think next year we will camp and do the whole weekend. Its such a fab family friendly festival.

Today, Mike and I are at #CarFest with Bunny, Bear Today, Mike and I are at #CarFest with Bunny, Bear and my nephew. Bear loved playing with the bubbles in the entrance and was given some of his own to play with. We have been on some funfair rides, had some lunch and are now sat waiting for the Everything Show to start out on the main track. Hoping to see some donuts, pops and bangs!

We are away camping in Dorset (the county where I We are away camping in Dorset (the county where I grew up). We arrived Wednesday, set up the tent, went shopping, had dinner and went to bed. Yesterday was a day out in Bournemouth. Bournemouth is one of my favourite beaches in the UK. I love how clean it is, how soft the sand is, how clear the sea is, and the fact you can stroll through the stunning gardens if you need a bit of shade.

Yesterday was the first time in about 2 years that we've been anywhere this busy, so it was a bit worrying and we did pop our face masks on in the crowded places and all the shops. With the exception of the masks and a little anxiety (I found myself holding my breath every time I walked past someone), it was like life pre-pandemic.

When we went for a swim in the sea, my 9 year old daughter (affectionately nicknamed Fluffy) threw her hands up in the air and declared, "THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!".

This is what our children have been missing. This is what I've been missing. I stood in the sea taking lungfuls of sea air, jumping the waves and watching the delighted look on her face. It definitely was one of the best feelings ever.
