Bunny’s birthday is just 10 days before the twins, which means that May is an expensive month for us. For the twins 1st birthday and Bunny’s 6th, we had a triple birthday, triple christening in one big party. It was brilliant. It saved time and money and travelling for our relatives. Last year, Bunny had a party, but the twins didn’t. This year, we decided to do another triple celebration, because we are going abroad for the twins birthday and don’t fancy lugging presents to another country and back. To be fair, they are just turning 3 years old – they have no clue when their birthday is anyway!
So on the bank holiday we had a very small triple birthday party at home. One thing that we always have at birthday parties is balloons, and for the last few years, we have bought Balloon Time helium canisters and blown up our own helium balloons. Why? Well because you get a lot more helium filled balloons for your money, than if you were to buy them pre-inflated and because you don’t have the hassle of trying to get the balloons from shop, to car, to house, without losing any or having a car accident!
This year was no exception and we popped to Tesco and picked up a Balloon Time Helium party kit for £24.99. The kit contains 30 latex balloons, a ball of ribbon and a lightweight portable canister of helium. The canister is also recyclable and you can find out more about that on the Balloon Time website.
Latex balloons stay inflated for around 5-7 hours and foil ones last for around 4 days before going down. We chose to just stick to the latex ones this time and we drew cats on some of them, to go with our cats and dogs party theme.
The helium canister is really easy to use. You quite simply open the valve, put the balloon on the nozzle and then push down to release the helium directly into the balloon. It literally takes seconds.
During the party, the 2-3 year old guests loved playing with the balloons and so did the 7-10 year old guests. In fact… so did some of the adults too. Nobody is too old for balloons really (we had balloons at our wedding in Cyprus)!
At this party, I personally had the most fun, taking these gorgeous photos of my newly 8-year-old daughter Bunny, playing with a big bunch of the balloons…
I’m working with BritMums and Balloon Time as part of the “Celebration Club”, highlighting inventive and fun ways of using balloons. I was provided with a Balloon Time helium kit and have been compensated for my time. All editorial and opinions are my own. Visit www.balloontime.com for more information and party inspiration.
Looks like lots of fun and I love the faces on the balloons. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part.
