When we went Gromit spotting as part of Gromit Unleashed, the charity art project in Bristol, we had no idea that it would turn into an addiction. Our Gromit obsession meant we spent 4 afternoons photographing Gromit’s as we couldn’t possibly stop until we had all 80 Gromits.
So without further ado, I give you…
80 Gromits…
I can’t begin to tell you how much fun we had doing this, or what an amazing bonding opportunity it was for me and Bunny. It was fantastic. I’m sad that it’s finished now and the Gromit’s are waiting to be auctioned to the highest bidders. The shops however, are still open – I’m told they will remain open until Christmas. The shop at Cribbs Causeway also has a “Gromit museum”. There was a Gromit Train too.
We also found lots of other Wallace and Gromit things to see, at the shops, museum and in the windows of Aardman Animations.
I hope that The Grand Appeal exceed their target of raising £3.5million for Bristol Children’s Hospital. You can donate on The Grand Appeal website.

Fabulous post – I salute your dedication! We were only in Bristol for a couple of days and managed 24 – understand your addiction though, what a fabulous thing for the city and of course for the charity! Enjoyed looking at all of these, thanks!
Am in awe that you found all 80! The pictures are gorgeous. It really was great fun. I was glad we went back a second time to get our total up to 40 (Daddy found one at Paddington for us!).
Wow!! Fantastic!! What an achievement finding them all x

I keep seeing Gromit sightings in UK posts but this is the first one where I can really appreciate them! Great idea taking the kids on a Gromit hunt

Wow no wonder it took you so long to organise! What a wonderful collection and well done on seeing all 80! A challenge and a half completed there and a great Country Kids post.

That’s 2 people I ‘know’ who’ve done the 80. Wish we had something like that near us – would love to have done the collection.

Woah now that dedication, what a great thing to do as a family. I love Vincent Van Grommit the best!
Great to see all these photos….we are quite proud of ourselves – we managed to see 41 on just one Saturday in Bristol centre! Not sure how many miles we walked over the 7 hours or so it took!
