Today marks one year ago exactly that this blog was born. I have come to think of my blog as part of the family, so why not celebrate it’s turning one!
I began my blog, whilst 30 weeks pregnant with twins, which was aptly the title of my first post! Little did I know that that humble little post would lead to a blog which has changed my life.
My husband doesn’t fully understand the addiction of blogging, or why my blog is so important to me, but I can’t put it into words.
My blog is:
my therapy
my outlet
my inspiration
my diary
my interaction
my memories
my ambition
my motivation
my poetry
my voice
my influence
my space
More than that now…
…my place to inspire others…
I have managed to inspire others to blog poetry and quotes and get involved with literature. I have managed to inspire others with my posts about my children, my pregnancy illness, my Cancer. I’ve inspired people to take the Baby and Toddler First Aid course and possibly save a life.
I am now using my blog to raise awareness of various different campaigns and causes and to fundraise for charities.
Numerous people have message me telling me that I inspired them to donate money to the Stand Up To Cancer fund or to Cancer Research. Four people have told me I have inspired them to do Race for Life. One person even contacted me last week, saying that I had inspired her to quite smoking and that the money she saved on cigarettes, she’d give to Cancer Research UK, by sponsoring me to run Race for Life.
No, this is not a plea for nominations in the Inspire category of the BiB Awards (although that’d be nice). This is my blogoversary and I am feeling proud of a year’s worth of my writing. The latter part of that year has included a lot of posts relating to Cancer. For obvious reasons. So I wanted my blogoversary giveaway, to be fitting with that.
I don’t just want to give something away to my readers, I want Cancer Research to benefit from it too!
SO… without further ado, in celebration of my 1st year of blogging, I am giving away the following (all of which I bought from the Race For Life website so that the money goes to Cancer Research UK):
One lucky little girl could win all this:

https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/shop/index.html
A pair of Purple PomPoms
Wings and a Tutu
Hair Clips
Wristbands
I’m sorry it’s a girly prize, but I having three girls myself, I know nothing about boys!

I think cancer research is a charity close to almost everyone’s hearts and a brilliant cause. Another one close to my heart is the national autistic society and any charities supporting families affected by autism or helping children with communication difficulties

If I won the prize, I’d sell it to the highest bidder and donate the money – my little boys wouldn’t appreciate all that pink! ๐

Happy Blogaversary to you, I didnt have any twins, though my midwife once said she could feel two heads before my son was born, he has always been a real handful so I dont know how I would have managed with two. The Cancer charites are close to my heart Cancer Research and Macmillan largely due to experience with family members who have suffered cancer and the work of these charities is invaluable.
Happy Blogaversary!!
My charities are ARRC which supports children in Russia and the former republics; Water Aid on then 2 year old Lara’s request (she saw a TV advert); the RSPB; those are my regular ones, and then several others on an ad hoc basis. We can’t always afford much, but I send the money we get from affiliate links on the blog, which helps.
Cancer Research UK , my big brother died from cancer 12 years ago
I’m really sorry to hear that. I am hoping to raise lots of money this year for Cancer Research UK xx
Happy Blogaversary!!
Several charities are close to my heart…
Alzheimer’s Support because my Grandfather who was an optician with his own practices can no longer remember how to walk or occasionally how to open his eyes.
Cancer Research because I lost my Granny to leukaemia and aunt to Breast Cancer.
Mind because my brother took his own life after a long battle with manic depression and schizophrenia.
Bliss for Babies because my youngest two were both needed support in NICU.
Congratulations!!!! I can’t wait to be able to say I’ve been blogging (this blog anyway) for a year. I completely identify with all those things you say your blog is to you. I love it and cant imagine stopping!

Cancer charities have always been close to my heart as my dad had cancer but now they are even more important to me, especially breast cancer charities as I am just recovering from breast cancer myself. I was diagnosed in July last year and have had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy which I finished at the end of January. I will be taking part in the Race for Life in Norwich in May with my 10 year old and 4 year old daughters. I hope together we can raise lots of money ๐
The Salvation Army, my Granddad would always stop and give money into their collection boxes when I was younger. They will help anyone without judgement

Happy blogoversary! What a lovely idea to show your support to a charity that is so close to your heart. We have 4 sponsored children in different parts of the world via the charity Compassion. we still find it amazing how far just ยฃ21 a month stretches in feeding, clothing, educating, providing healthcare etc in those countries when you can hardly buy anything for that in the UK in comparison. We also support a local childrens hospice near us who do an amazing job. Well done for all you are doing! xxx

Hi, Happy Blogoversary!!
Charities close to my heart, I have a few I am afraid. I value St Barnabas Hospice in Lincoln (who looked after my nan and Grandad), Macmillan for things they have done for relatives, Help for Heroes as I believe they support people who deserve it, Saying Goodbye for the support I have seen them give someone I love dearly (and many others) and a couple of local charities that are leaders in supporting those in poverty and those who need compassion including a foodbank I volunteer for.
