Friday 8th March 2013 was International Women’s Day. The Fairtrade Foundation supported it by going to Ghana to meet the Akoma Cooperative. The Akoma cooperative consists of women who make and sell 100% organic Fairtrade Shea Butter. They call it Shea Millions as they believe it will bring wealth and health to the Akoma community.
I also believe it will bring great smooth soft skin! I can’t say that raw shea butter smells the nicest, but it feels really nice on and apparently works wonders. This shea butter is 100% Fairtrade, Organic Shea butter, with no nasty added ingredients.
This little pot, will last me AGES as it goes a long way! I think it’s also a great feeling knowing you have bought a product of which the profits will do good.
Actress Jessica Hynes went make-up free and organised a Thunderclap on international womens day 2013 to support the Akoma cooperative. It was a raging success.
