It seems quite appropriate, to have stumbled upon an ebook about money saving holiday tips, just two days before we go on holiday!
I’m usually quite a thrifty person (because I never have much money) but for me, all thoughts of saving money go straight out of the window, where holidays are concerned. I was really shocked, from reading this guide, by how much money I waste just GETTING to my holiday destination. There are ideas in this guide I would never have considered. Every single tip on the page about packing for a holiday, is the opposite of what I usually do.
I’m now using it as a reference guide as I pack for our family to have a weekend away in Scotland. We’ve been looking forward to this for ages, because neither Jonny, nor me, have ever been to Scotland. I hear that it’s really beautiful there and I plan to take lots of pictures! Unfortunately we are forecast rain all weekend, but that won’t stop us having a good time.
Anyway, back to the guide… It includes money saving tips for every part of your holiday, from pre-holiday shopping and packing (for all kinds of travel) and how to keep the kids amused, to Do’s and Don’t’s of travel insurance. It provides tips on how to get the best exchange rate, if you’re travelling abroad, how best to travel around when you get there, and information about car hire. It covers tips for UK breaks and European city breaks too and how to have fun for free when you get there. There is also info on how to find money saving vouchers and how to keep in touch with people at home without running up a huge phone bill.
The best part is, this guide was put together by lots of my friends from the blog world, so I know I can trust their advice, because they all speak from experience and they are all parents.
