I remember My Little Pony from my own childhood. I had the ponies and brushed their manes and I watched the brightly coloured cartoon on TV. I had a My Little Pony themed bedroom with curtains, bedspread and even a toy box covered with My Little Pony fabric. It’s funny now that my own daughter loves watching the same programme (I believe it’s a little more up to date now) and playing with the same toys. So naturally Bunny was thrilled when we were sent the My Little Pony “Friendship is Magic” DVD to review.
The DVD came with a My Little Pony miniature toy figurine and a collectors card, in addition to the disc itself. This adds to the fun for children. 7 year old Bunny and her 2 year old sisters all settled down to watch it together. The twins generally aren’t captivated by many things on TV as they have short attention spans. Other than TV adverts and one show they watch regularly, they mostly ignore the TV. The My Little Pony DVD did hold their attention for about half an hour, which is much longer than most things on children’s TV. They also have My Little Pony toys, which they love playing with and there is actually a My Little Pony, with the same name as one of my girls!
Bunny loved the DVD and as a mum, I love that the My Little Pony stories teach strong morals and values to children. This DVD contained five episodes of My Little Pony, which were all about friendship. There is so many mindless programmes around nowadays, that it makes me happy, that this is the sort of thing my daughter chooses to watch.
She has done her own review of this DVD in the form of a short vlog. This is in fact Bunny’s first ever vlog and she loved filming it, so please take a minute to watch it and maybe even pop over to youtube and give it a thumbs up or leave her a comment.
I also have a copy of My Little Pony “Friendship is Magic” on DVD to give away to one lucky reader of mine. To enter, please follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter below.
