I’d never really seen the fascination with wooden toys until I discovered Orange Tree Toys, in particular their Farm Kitchen Collection. A family member gave the girls a cream tea set, a tea tray set, side plate set, cake set and a roast dinner set, as a gift.
I couldn’t believe the detail that went into each toy. They are fantastic quality, pretty colours and painted so beautifully. My girls wanted an authentic al fresco picnic play experience, so we headed outside with their new Orange Tree Toys playsets and I got snap happy with my camera whilst the girls played.
Tiny and Fluffy usually get bored with their toys after about ten minutes of playing with them, but they were quite happy playing with these for a full hour. These playsets come out nearly every day now and they never seem to tire of them; they have replaced other favourite toys in our house.
The wooden roast dinner set came with a plate, knife and fork, tablecloth, broccoli, yorkshire pudding, roast beef, carrots, peas and a gravy boat. My girls love using the knife and fork to role play cutting up their roast dinner and pretending to eat it.
The roast dinner set nicely compliments the other farm kitchen playsets and my girls liked mixing and matching it all together. Each piece is intricately handpainted and the pattern on the cream tea set matches the tea tray set, the side plates and all the other sets in this range. My girls love pouring each other cups of tea and passing each other scones and cakes from the cake stand. The tea tray set came with a teapot, two teacups and saucers, teaspoons, sugar pot, milk jug and a lovely tray to put it all on. The cream tea set came with a two-tier cake stand with a selection of cakes and scones. I believe Orange Tree Toys now do a three tier afternoon tea set with sandwiches and macaroons too!
As a mum, I love that these toys inspire children to use their imagination and role play like I did in my own childhood. We live in a world which now seems to be dominated by technology and online games and it’s wonderful to see children getting so much enjoyment out of more traditional toys. Both myself and my children were so impressed with the quality of these toys that we’ve gone from wooden toy skeptics to wooden toy fans. I’m now looking at the other ranges of Orange Tree Toys for Christmas present ideas.
These are so super cute! Love the cake stand – it all looks so lovely! My son could play with his tea set for ages, but in all honesty it’s nowhere near as nice as this is – I think I know what’s going on the Christmas list right now! Thanks so much for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
My eldest daughter loves a tea set and will play with it for ages. I love this set is so pretty and I do love wooden toys, they are always so gorgeous. They look very happy playing with it. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove x

The children have always adored tea sets and spent hours playing with them, in fact Eowyn still plays tea parties with Tyrus and Viggo now, the orange tree toys are definitely something special. #Totallytoys
