I’ve been feeling a little jealous over the Easter holidays, of all the fantastic photos I’ve seen on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, of the fun places people have been taking their children for family time. The weather has been beautiful lately, yet due to my slow recovery from surgery, I’ve not been up to doing much or going anywhere exciting.
Bunny has spent most of the holidays at her Nanny’s house with her half brother Rhino. They went out to Puxton park and did lots of fun things together. I’m glad that at least she was having a good time, even if it was without me.
Rhino’s mum has kindly let me show you some of her photos…

Having said that, I have now started venturing out of the house. I went to my beautiful niece’s Christening and earlier this week, I walked the twins to a park in town (while Bunny was at Nanny’s).
We started off with a little picnic, where Tiny learnt she should have eaten her sandwich faster, as she put it down on the grass and a black labrador ran over, picked it up and ate it. Personally I think the owner of the dog, should have bought us another sandwich (or kept their dog on a lead)!
Tiny didn’t like the feeling of grass between her toes, so she wouldn’t get up and run around until I’d put her shoes back on. Fluffy was up and gone as soon as a golden retriever ran past, because she has an obsession with dogs (No… she is NOT having one!).
The pair of them had lots of fun, after stealing a ball and a frisby from a neighbouring picnic blanket, the owners of said picnic blanket, let them play with them for a while. We went in the play park too, before walking home.
It was nice to get out in the sunshine and I managed to walk 5 miles that day, which is a start on getting back into my training for #EmmasArmy.
That looks like a lovely picnic and your big girl had lots of smiles for her day out. #countrykids

I think they should give you another sandwich. Other than the dog incident looks like you had fun! I honestly dont know why you had a surgery [I need to read your fast entries =)]but I am glad that you are getting wee bit better =)

Sounds like you are making real progress Emma. Bummy is lucky having your family so close and cousins too and the twins made me look twice, they have grown so much since I saw them! Thank you for joining me for Country Kids.

Oh our family aren’t close – they are two hours drive away, which is why we let her stay a few days. She very rarely sees them. Rhino is her half brother, not her cousin. Xx
Sorry Emma, I manage to change their relationship between reading and commenting. Doh! What a shame they don’t live closer to you. All our family are 4 plus hours away, it makes visiting much harder but a treat.

Such beautiful photos of the twins. You did really well to walk that far! It’s a shame you weren’t with Bunny much, but glad she had some time to enjoy herself. x
