Let’s revamp the kitchen
Your kitchen might be practical and hardwearing – but there’s no need for it to be dull! We all know that the kitchen is one of the busiest rooms in the house, so why not make it more of a space that everyone can enjoy?
Here we take a look at some of the ways you can spruce up your kitchen space without breaking the bank!
Change your flooring
Sounds expensive – but it doesn’t have to be! Changing your kitchen floor will give it a new lease of life and make it look fresh and new. Kitchen laminate flooring from discount flooring depot would be a great place to start. Easy to clean and maintain, laminate flooring is a must have for any kitchen space!
Paint your furniture
A fairly simple and economical solution to revamp your kitchen would be to paint the furniture, which are the most visible elements of the room! Kitchen-adapted paints are readily available from most hardware shops and these are resistant to stains and household products
There’s a wide selection of colours available too – so you can really let your creativity flow! Create that contemporary white kitchen you’ve always dreamed of, or play with colours for a more visually striking one. The possibilities are endless!
Changing handles & knobs
A pretty small change, but striking nonetheless! Colourful, classic, or original. You choose how you want to customize your kitchen furniture based on cost. There are many outlets, especially online (Etsy, for example) that have amazing custom-made accessories that can suit your decor, while fitting your budget.
Change your taps
Again, a little change – but one that won’t go unnoticed. A kitchen tap sets the tone of the kitchen – high end, or family style. If you go for a bold colour, then it’s always going to be a conversation starter!
Re-style those tiles
If painting the kitchen furniture seems a little too expensive or impractical for you, then why not elevate the space behind the counters? Special tie paints are easy to get hold of and a pop of colour behind your counters will instantly elevate your kitchen to another level.
Add some décor and chic
If installing a new floor is a little out of your budget then don’t despair. Why not add a touch of class to your kitchen with a new rug? Add a comfortable mat or carpet that you put near the sink, or under the table if you have one. You can also go for multiple mats that you’ll place wherever you’re most likely to stand (near the fridge, the sink, countertops, etc.).
A new clock
To quickly dress up the walls of your kitchen, and personalize the room at the same time, go for a nice big industrial-style clock. If you’re in a colourful mood, you can also go for crazy-looking or bold ones.
Lighting
Sometimes you just have to look up for a new decoration idea! Changing suspended lights can have a real impact on your kitchen. With a more or less soft lighting, you’ll create changes not only in terms of decoration, but also the atmosphere.

I love this! My kitchen actually has carpet flooring! I know! I cannot wait for the day when I can replace the floor and use some of your other suggestions, but we’re slowly working on other rooms in the house first. For now though, I will have to continue to call the carpet cleaners regularly and dream about the day that I can completely revamp the kitchen. Thanks for this inspiring article!
