Things are feeling a little up and down for me at the moment and the theme of winning keeps cropping up.
The light hearted blogger part of me, is daydreaming about winning the Best Baby Blog in the MAD awards. It’d be a great honour for me, my writing, and of course the subjects of my writing… my girls.
As the National Hunt Festival and the spirit of horse racing dominates Gloucestershire, the skint part of me is hoping for a few wins. We set aside a small amount to bet with, but that small amount, with a little luck, could become a bit more.
But with every fibre of my being, there is only one real battle I want / NEED to win. My battle against Cancer number 2. My next surgery is on Monday.
There is a big difference between winning and striving to win; having the strength to try.
My blog writing will not weaken, if I don’t win an award – because the words will always be mine.
Neither will my spirits falter, if my horses don’t come in – we will work harder in our jobs to bring home the bacon.
It is important to choose your battles and work through the hardships. I have beaten Cancer once and now I am strong in the heart, mind and soul.
Therefore, I felt this quote… was PERFECT for this week’s Wednesday Words…
“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”
What more can I say?
