A few weeks ago, I told you that I'd written a poem for my husband, but also that I had left it in isolation with my old mobile phone. Well my mobile phone is no longer dangerously radioactive and has been returned to me. So here is the poem I wrote for my husband, all those weeks ago...
If I were a Flower
If I were a Flower,
You'd be my sunshine
And my rain.
Without you
I'd wilt
And wither away.
I blossom,
Because you help me to grow.
I colour,
Because you love me so.
And in times you feel a drought
I will stand tall
And make you proud.

Next week I will be on holiday at Coombe Mill courtesy of all the kind bloggers who clubbed together during the #S2S2D campaign, whilst I was having radiotherapy. So next week's #WednesdayWords will be hosted by the lovely Victoria from Verily Victoria Vocalises.

I love the flower metaphor. Also the line ‘I colour’ in really like, simple but such a lovely image.

A lovely post Emma. Nice to look back now, see how far you’ve come and give yourself a reminder of all that your ‘hubs’ did and is still doing for you. Lovely to see someone so appreciative of their other half 🙂 x
Lovely Emma. Like Stephanie I love the ‘I colour’ line x

Just re-visiting! I rather love this – not only the (beautiful) words, but how you’ve set out the lines. Well done!
