For this week's Wednesday Words, I decided to share a poem I wrote myself about parenting. Not just every day parenting, but one of those days, where everything seems to go wrong. Personally, I think this poem would make a pretty awesome rap. I'm no rapper, but feel to try it as you read!
Just one of those days © Emma Day
They've woken you up early,
poo-plosion in the cot.
You've run out of nappies.
And milk? Not a lot!
Six little feet,
but only five shoes.
Two kids jumping on the sofa;
a third with the blues.
Credit card declines -
50p chocolate bar.
Left your sanity in aisle two,
your patience in the car!
Feeling really hungry,
Lunch ends up on the floor,
You answer the phone,
toddler's running for the door!
School run in your slippers,
car runs out of fuel.
Flat tyre on the buggy,
kids fighting in a dual.
Daddy goes for a pint
right at bath time.
You get wetter then them,
you deserve a glass of wine!
The little darlings look so cute
during snuggles before bed.
Can't wait for more tomorrow
... when you've cleared your head!

Great poem and I am all too familiar with those days….although toddlers have been replaced with teenagers who cause just as much mayhem!
That’s fab! I wrote quite a depressing one based on OCD but I won’t be sharing that one.
Hopefully my post will be ok to share as it does feature a quote x
Really lovely poem!

Love it!! What a great poem 🙂
I read it as a rap in my head (don’t think I could do it out loud!). It worked very well!
