I’m ridiculously excited about going to Ladies day at the Cheltenham Festival tomorrow. Years ago I used to work at the races, so I’ve always wanted to go on ladies day and wear something pretty (rather than uniform!).
Ladies day is internationally renowned for being a high class event, immersed in style, fabulous dresses, hairpieces and hats. Local and national tabloids display photographs of ladies in their finery.
This year, the racecourse wants to come alive with colour and has introduced it’s #ColourMeMarch competition You can enter photos of your outfit, to win fabulous prizes.
But what am I going to wear?
It’s spring, the sun is shining, the weather is warming up and it’s time to bring some colour out of my wardrobe for #ColourMeMarch!
I was torn between a slinky red number, a lacy turquoise dress and a white dress with big bold pink and blue flowers.
In the end, I went with the flowers. I teamed it with a floral headband, a flowery silver arm cuff and a beaded necklace. I chose not to add any additional colour to the outfit as I wanted the colour in the flowers to really pop out.
The dress is from New Look, Necklace from M&S, the cuff was a gift, the headband I wore for my wedding almost four years ago and the shoes are from TK Maxx.
This outfit makes me feel the full force of spring and injects some colour into my March. I hope it brings me some luck at the races too!
I’m off to do my nails now, in a vibrant blue, to match the flowers on my dress. I’ll pick out a pink cardi to complete the outfit and I’ll be tweeting my complete look, with the rest of you, at ladies day on March 11th.
Best of luck to those of you entering and have a fabulous day if you’re going to the races!
Stunning! I hope you’re not too chilly! Have a fabulous day. x
